Are red ink tattoos safe? What you need to know before getting one

The current trend of using red ink for a fine line tattoo is here to stay! A red ink tattoo is simply when the tattoo outline is red instead of black. A certain red ink is used on all or on part of the tattoo design. Much like a fine line or small/ tiny tattoo the tattoo is usually quite simple.
There are some limitations to red ink, so if you've thought about getting a red ink tattoo but feel concerned, you're not alone. From wondering how long a red ink tattoo will last to concerns about allergies or fading, it's a lot. So, let's take a closer look at red ink tattoos and tackle the concerns our clients have about them.
Are red inks safe?
Due to tattooing many folk from Europe where in some counties red ink is banned, we often get asked this question. The answer is, yes! Due to red ink containing ingredients such as mercury, heavy metals, and other potentially harmful substances. These components can cause allergic skin reactions and skin irritations. Despite this warning we see people coming back and back again to get a fineline red ink tattoo or even a massive red inked dragon! That's because here at Roxxi's, red ink tattoos are generally safe because we use high-quality inks from local reputable tattoo supply companies.
Do red ink tattoos still look rad over time?
Tattoos fade, it's a fact. Red ink tattoos, like all tattoos, may fade due to exposure from the sun, immune responses from your body, and the ink's quality. Red Ink can be particularly prone to fading compared to black ink because lighter coloured ink has a lesser density of pigment particles, making them more likely to fade. On top of this the composition of red pigments may contribute to a quick fade when exposed to sunlight. Also, the appearance of red ink on darker skin tones might not show up as vibrant as what it does on lighter skin tones, and this may be just the way you like it. It's all personal to you ;)
The good new is:

Is my red ink tattoo going to cost more?
Red ink tattoos aren't more expensive than other coloured tattoos just because they're red.
