Thinking about getting your nipples pierced?

Nipple piercings are some of my favourite piercings to do as they always look deadly and can give a person a new found confidence for their bodies or even after a traumatic experience.
Why we use 14 gauge for nipple piercings
Nipple piercings are pierced with a 14 Gauge barbel in the beginning as this is best for healing and swelling purposes. In some areas of the body we need to be pierced with a thicker gauge so our bodies are better able to accept the jewellery. If the jewellery is too thin, some areas our bodies will assume this new jewellery is a splinter and our body will try to push it out. To avoid this issue a 14 Gauge will be installed when first pierced.
Can sensitive nipples be pierced?
Yes, of course they can. Nipple piercings can be a little spicy on the pain level but nothing that will make you have your life flash before your eyes.
Can all nipples be pierced?
Most nipples can be pierced, in the small chance your nipples are too small or they are too inverted I’d suggest something that would be safer for your body. Although in some cases having slightly inverted nipples can be pierced with a skilled piercer, like myself, if safe to pierce your nipples will permanently be not interned after the piercing.
What is the best metal for nipple piercings?
Titanium. I only pierce with titanium or gold although for this sort of piercing I would recommend titanium in the beginning as it is the best metal to be pierced with. It is hypoallergenic, meaning it has no copper or nickel in it and those are often the elements that can cause irritation to someone with sensitive skin, as they naturally break down in your body over time.
Titanium is also biocompatible, meaning it will not break down with your natural bodily fluids over time which can cause irritation to the piercing or skin. It is also the lightest metal in weight so your piercing will not sag, causing the healing process to be a lot easier and softer in this delicate area.
Nipple piercing aftercare
Aftercare for these beauties is simple, spray twice a day with a saline solution. Gently dab the area dry with a clean paper towel and let her breathe.
For the first week or so you may want to avoid wearing bras or tops with lace and be mindful of shower loofahs during the healing process to avoid snagging.
Nipple piercings do swell so don’t panic this is very normal and healthy for your piercings and is the natural process of healing.
Do not twist or touch your new piercings while healing as we don't want to add extra germs to the area and by twisting the jewellery we risk tearing the skin on the inside of the piercing to tear, putting the timeline of our piercing backwards.
Crusting around the barbell during the healing process is normal, please don’t pick at it. Let your saline soak do its magic or a warm shower will help dissolve any crust. Crust is good on a piercing and is a part of the natural process of healing.
If you have any concerns while the healing process it’s always welcomed you go visit your deadly piercer for any questions or concerns.
I hope some of these points helped and if you have any more questions please send them in and ask away!
